Event Description:
Spend time exploring local sphagnum bogs while learning how to identify and harvest wild cranberries. This hands-on course also introduces participants to other bog species such as Labrador tea, pitcher plants, and snowberry. Students will visit several nearby bog sites (within 10 miles of Rhinelander) and gain the skills needed to confidently locate productive areas for future foraging. Terrain may be uneven and slightly strenuous but requires no prior conditioning. Rubber boots are strongly recommended. Locations will be confirmed prior to class based on seasonal conditions.
