SUMMARY:Arts Legacy Program
DESCRIPTION:Six art classes will be held daily from 9 a.m. until noon at the UWSP-Treehaven Campus in Tomahawk on Friday\, Saturday\, and Sunday\; on-site meals and lodging are available. \n\n\n\nClasses offer a wide variety of arts experiences\, from Protest Poetry to EcoPrinting. Classes are $60 each. Scholarships are available. \n\n\n\nClass registration opens July 29 at http://artstartrhinelander.org/programs/soa2019/.\n\n\n\nThe final component of the retreat will take place as part of Project North in downtown Rhinelander September 26 through 28 and feature artist demonstrations\, interactive art installations\, and an Art Walk. Project North Festival will also feature live music and sustainability education and is a production of the Rhinelander Area Chamber of Commerce\, WXPR Public Radio\, ArtStart\, and Nicolet College.\n\n\n\nClass Listing:\n\nFriday classes include: Contemporary Fiber Landscape Design with Colleen Ansbaugh\, Creating Nature Scenes with Drypoint Papermaking with Mel Kolstad\, Journal with EcoPrinting with Debra Ketchum Jircik\, Punch Lines: Light Verse and Funny Poems with Katie Vagnino\, Working with a Professional Editor with Alexandra Uth\, Flash Communal Play Writing: Session One with Ryan Winn.\n\n\n\nSaturday classes include: Drypoint Prints in Nature - Creating Mixed Media Prints with Mel Kolstad\, Field Sketching with Rebecca Jabs\, Flash Communal Writing: Session Two with Ryan Winn\, Japanese Shibori and Traditional Indigo with visiting Japanese artisan Takayuki Ishii\, Protest Poetry with Katie Vagnino\, Filming Natural Light with Nate Sheppard.\n\n\n\nSunday classes include: Visual Journaling with Elizabeth Lewis\, Japanese Shibori and Traditional Indigo with visiting artisan Takayuki Ishii\, Beginning Seminole Patchwork with Suzanne Meyers Otto\, Flash Fiction Short and Punchy with Jane Banning\, Flash Communal Writing: New Erotica For Artist --Love\, Respect\, and a Livable Wage with Ryan Winn\, and Oil Painting with Nate Wilson.\n\n\n\nAll program\, reception\, and festival information can be found online at artstartrhinelander.org.
